Commissioned for private homes, these delightful hand-embroidered and appliquéd cushions and bed pieces delicately produced in Cairo by skilled tent makers using colourful scraps of fabrics to recreate Louis Barthélemy’s whismical illustrations are inspired by the lush nature of the Nile Valley.

Each piece is an invitation to idleness, like a cruise on the deck of a dahabeya descending the Nile, contemplating the scrolling landscapes where many animal species and sublime creatures find shelter.
